I’m Sai. I am a 31 year old software designer and engineer. I have worked on website creation and management systems for two of the world’s largest automobile companies. These systems are used to create and power the thousands of websites belonging to the car dealers of these auto makers.

That’s me.
With makeawebsite.tv my objective is to help motivated beginners who don’t have any coding knowledge or experience to create their own websites from scratch.
So whether you want to start a blog about your passion or to display your photographs, or a website for your business, makeawebsite.tv will help you do it.
There are multiple options available to create a website – the guides here will help you decide the one best for your needs. I also break down the entire website-building process into actionable steps and then show you how to go about it step by step with clear instructions (and screenshots where it helps).
The end result is a professional-looking and robust website that you can be proud of.
You’ll also learn how to maintain and grow your website over the long-term. It couldn’t get better.
The Audience
- Serious folks who want to invest the time to learn to create a successful website, the right way.
- Beginners with basic computer skills who can follow instructions.
- The tutorials on this website are FREE. However, you might need to spend money on the things required for a website, like a domain name and web hosting.
So you really could be anyone – a wannabe parent blogger who wants to journal your kid’s life, a mumpreneur trying to create a website for your home-based-business, a globe-trotter thinking of sharing your travelogues online, a small business owner wanting to take your business online and grow your customer base… ok, so you get the idea.
Does that sound like you? Then don’t forget to bookmark this site.
Here’s where you need to start: Creating Websites – A Beginner’s Guide
What’s Special Or Different Here?
There are many guides around the internet that say you can make a website in 5 minutes or less. If that serves to give you the confidence that anybody can do it, well, then that’s a good thing. But in reality there’s no incentive to hurrying up through the process – this isn’t a speed-contest you are trying to win. If you are even half serious about the entire website thing, then it’s better to understand what each step is really about and what you are doing.
Most of these guides never venture beyond the ‘setting up’ process. Merely setting up a website isn’t really the same as creating a functional site with proper planning, maintaining it and knowing how to use it for your purposes; just as simply jumping off a chartered flight with a parachute stripped to your back isn’t the same as skydiving. If you intend to land in one piece and live to tell the tale (and share the photos of your adventurous pursuits on Facebook) you’d better learn what it’s all about and how to go about doing it the right way. Else, it will be someone else that will be doing the sharing of pictures – of your ‘crash landing’.
So that’s the gap I intend to fill with the website. I walk you through the entire process and I offer you my insights about the best ways to do it.
What’s In It For Me?
First, I recommend various services/products on this site and if you use my affiliate links to buy these services, I get a commission. You never pay even a cent more when you buy through my links. In fact, sometimes you might pay lesser this way than if you directly approach the service. I take my visitors seriously and I never recommend anything that I myself don’t use or wouldn’t use. It’s a matter of integrity and it’s important to me.
Second, it is fun. The feeling of getting an increasing number of visitors every month on my website is a totally exciting experience. If not for this, I could just spend the time I put into this website for my consulting practice – which pays me a lot more than what this website makes me.
Together, these reasons keep me coming back to the keyboard.
Who Am I?
My name is Sai A. I am a software designer and engineer. I have worked on analysis-engines and website creation software (content management systems) for two of the world’s largest automakers.
Graduating with a Bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering in 2004, I had job offers from Microsoft and a much smaller business software firm called Trilogy. Trilogy had an impressive list of Global 500 clients and a world-renowned training program for it’s college hires that Harvard Business Review called ‘No Ordinary Boot Camp’.
Looking for a tech-adventure, I joined Trilogy and dived into exciting projects that offered tons to learn in a very short period.
I left my full-time job in 2007. I now consult part-time and spend the remaining time on my other interests, including my own online-projects.
I hope this website will be of good use to you. If you have anything to say about this website (comments, praise, feedback, suggestions/requests for tutorials) feel free to contact me via the contact form.
Cheers!
Sai
